Jury Comments - Given the budget and overall scale of this house, the house did have a certain sense of elegance to it. Many of the spaces that were defined within the house are very well executed, very clean for a project of this type. Within the framework of very traditional architectural vocabulary, this project is very well resolved and accomplished in its detailing. The proportions are nicely handled and the material qualities add an obvious richness to the project. A very, very large scale residential project and this was the most well executed of the ones we saw. We would have preferred that it had a public agenda rather than that degree of investment into such a large private home was a source of concern to the jury.
