MEMA Adopts FEMA Integration Team (FIT) Agreement

As we continue to build our relationships with Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to educate them on our SAP training program and the cadre of architects we have trained to assist in post-disaster efforts, we are excited to learn that MEMA is furthering it’s efforts to collaborate with FEMA to prepare for future emergencies. This Press Release outlines the new FEMA Integration Team (FIT) established to coordinate with MEMA on program implementation, hazard risk reduction and operational planning.

In April, AIA Maryland presented it’s disaster assistance program to the DelMarVa Emergency Task Force (DETF). Last week, AIA Maryland attended a full day meeting at FEMA Region III with Private Sector Partners and, next week we will provide an overview of our disaster assistance efforts during the Region III Recovery Support Function Leadership Group Coordination Call. We will round out May by attending the Maryland Emergency Management Association conference to continue the conversation about our disaster assistance program with Emergency Managers from across Maryland and the region.
